Sexual assault investigation ongoing

An e-fit image of a man thought to be connected to a sexual assault on a woman in a Bournemouth bar has been released.

The 18 year old victim was dancing alone in Bliss between 1am and 2.37am on Wednesday, 3 March, when two men subjected her to a degrading serious sexual assault.

Detective Constable Alan Marks, of the Bournemouth & Poole Public Protection Unit, said:

“This was a particularly nasty and degrading assault by two men, with one of them restraining the victim before both men carried out the sexual assault.

“The victim – an 18-year-old Bournemouth woman – screamed during the incident and there is no doubt that other members of the public who were on the crowded dance floor that night will have seen what happened to her.

“I understand that while the assault was taking place a group of at least four black or Asian men stood around the girl and her two attackers, and I believe that the attackers were part of this group.”

Detective Constable Marks continued: “I am very keen to speak to the man in this image, and I would encourage him – or anyone who knows him – to contact me as soon as possible.

Police want to speak to this man.

“The man depicted in this image is described as being Asian, possibly of Bangladeshi origin.

"I would encourage anyone who witnessed this degrading sexual assault, or anyone who has any information relating to the incident, to contact me urgently.”
