Teenager In Serious Sex Assault

Police are investigating a serious sex attack in Bournemouth.

A girl was attacked in a street by a man in the Queen's Park area near Bournemouth Crematorium on Wednesday night.

Police released the following statement to Heart:

"At 11.47pm on Wednesday 31 July 2013 Dorset Police received a report of an alleged serious sexual assault on a 17-year-old girl from Bournemouth along Strouden Avenue in Bournemouth.

"A 27-year-old Bournemouth man has been arrested in relation to this incident and his helping officers with their enquiries."

Officers carried out a major search in the area which involved dogs and the police helicopter.
