Weymouth Sailor Feared Lost At Sea

A sailor from Weymouth has gone missing.

Dorset Police say the 62-year-old set sail from the town for Swanage at 7am on Saturday 21 September but never arrived there.

His yacht, the Palamina, was found washed up on a beach at Grenay in Northern France on Monday morning (23 September). He was reported missing to Portland Coastguard shortly after. It's feared he is missing at sea.

The Palamina is described as a 27ft blue and green hulled yacht with white sail.

Officers are appealing for any information about the missing man, and want to hear from anyone who may have seen him or his boat.

Anyone with information is asked to call Dorset Police on 101, and quote incident 159 of the 23rd September.
