Woman Hurt During Bag Snatch In Poole

A woman's had her handbag snatched in Poole

It happened in Chaldon Park in the Canford Heath area at around 8.30pm on Thursday, 24 February 2011.

A 54-year-old Poole woman was walking to Tesco at Tower Park along the footpath, which runs behind Southbrook Close, when someone approached her from the rear and grabbed her handbag pulling her to the ground.

The handbag is a cream leather look bag with a silver key ring charm.

The offender is an 18 to 20-year-old man and described as white, about five feet five inches tall and of slim build. He has short dark hair, V-shaped side burns, was clean shaven and wearing a black anorak, dark trousers and shoes.

The victim sustained bruises and small cuts.

Police Constable Amy Burbidge, of Poole police, said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who may have seen the offender running away from the footpath at around 8.30pm on that day.”
