Worker Forced To Empty Safe By Robber

Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a report of an aggravated burglary in the Kinson area of the town.

A man broke into a store on Wimborne Road and forced a member of staff to empty a safe at around 5.30pm on Thursday, 9 December 2010.

The offender made off with a quantity of cash.

Detective Constable Vanessa Moyle, of Bournemouth CID, said:

“The victim had recently closed the store when she discovered that a man had forced entry through a rear door.

“This man demanded that she should open the safe. After he had stolen the money he told her to lie down on the floor before he made off.

“The victim sustained grazes to her knees.”

The man was wearing dark shoes. No further description is available.

DC Moyle continued:

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, and anyone with information about the man responsible, to contact me urgently.

“I would also like to speak with anyone who saw any suspicious activity – perhaps a man running – in the Kinson area yesterday afternoon.”

The name of the store hasn't been revealed.
