Detectives in Dunstable are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a robbery was reported last night.
The incident happened at the Cooperative Store in Westfield Road at approximately 8.45pm when a man entered the store and threatened staff with a knife before taking the contents of the cash register.
The offender is described as a white man, between 25 and 30 years old, with a medium build and 5’5” to 5’8” tall. He had short brown hair and wore a cream top with Adidas written in blue across the front, black training shoes with white soles and black fingerless gloves.
The officer in charge of this investigation, Detective Sergeant Chris Beresford, is keen to trace anyone in the Westfield Road area last night and can help identify the man responsible.
DS Beresford said: “No one was injured during this robbery but employees at the location were left shocked by what had happened. I would urge anyone who was in the area last night to come forward and help with this investigation and would also ask anyone who may be able to help identify the man from the description given to also contact the police. It is believed the man appeared to be under the influence of alcohol so it is possible that he may have visited local pubs prior to the robbery or members of the public may have noticed someone similar in the town earlier in the evening. Any information no matter how insignificant it may seem could help identify this man so we can put a stop to this behaviour.”
