UK's First Live Tweet Operation

A private hospital in Hertfordshire's become the first in the UK to live tweet a patient's operation.
The Spire Hospital in Heathbourne Road, Bushey, undertook the surgery to fit a gastric band on Saturday 15 December 2012, and staff in the operating theatre described on Twitter the procedure of fitting the band, from start to finish.
Following successful live tweets during operations in the United States, the hospital told Heart they wanted to do the same here as an educational tool for people wanting to discover exactly what happens during a gastric-bypass operation.
The identity of the patient has not been revealed.
The tweets relating to the procedure all carry the hash-tag #LiveAtBushey.
