Car Crash Treated As Suspected Attempted Burglary

Police investigating a car crash in St Albans suspect the driver was attempting a burglary.

The car was repeatedly driven into Christopher Wharton Jewellers on George Street in the early hours of Friday morning.

The offender failed to get into the shop and left empty handed before the police arrived.

DC Neil Sutton, from the Local Crime Unit in St Albans, said: 

“If you were in the area at the time and saw anything that may have been related to this crime, please get in touch with police.”
