At 14, Gabi is likely to be one of the youngest of all the ParalympicsGB athletes in London. Gabi first started competing in late 2009, when she was talent-spotted at the National Junior Games.
Prior to her involvement in Wheelchair Fencing, Gabi also used to enjoy Wheelchair Basketball and Athletics.
She rapidly progressed through the ranks after regularly attending the BPA’s Talent Transition Programme and now competes at European and international level.
Securing a 9th place finish at the 2011 Lonato World Cup in Lonato, Italy, her second international competition, sits amongst Gabi's greatest achievements in the sport to date. She was the youngest athlete to compete in this instance, a fact that she says doesn't really cross her mind when she is competing.
Amongst Gabi's sporting inspirations is team-mate David Heaton, who will be competing at his 5th Paralympic Games in London. In addition to his sporting achievements, Gabi credits David for the way in which he always has time to help other people on the team.
