Inquest Opens After Woman Commits Suicide On Train

An inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of a woman who set fire to herself in a train toilet.

Rachel James, 43, died on a Northampton to London train close to Leighton Buzzard station in Bedfordshire last Monday evening.

The train was stopped just north of Leighton Buzzard station in Bedfordshire and the 40 passengers escaped over the tracks.

The cause of death was given as incineration on Monday.

At the time she died Ms James lived at Whitehall Road, Uxbridge, West London.

Her suicide came 14 years to the day after she killed her five year old son Perry and attacked his nine year old brother.

After the attacks she was sent to a psychiatric hospital in Ealing, West London for several year before being released.
