Natalie Verney
Where are you from? I grew up in Thame in Oxfordshire and I've spent the last 10 years living in and around North London so that feels like my home too!
What were you doing before radio? I spent a few years being a jobbing actress and doing promotional work in-between - but I missed using my brain!
Best part of the job? Meeting people from all walks of life and never knowing what the day will bring
Moment you'd most like to forget? I had to read a story about Kim Wilde singing in a very bizaare youtube video for Hertfordshire Police - she sang the line 'Lock your shed securely' and for some reason it just tickled me and I completely lost it on air and couldn't stop laughing. My lovely boss Huw then very kindly sent it round the entire company - I got a lot of stick for that one!
Three words that describe you? Lively, chatty, ambitious
What advice would you give to anyone hoping to get started in journalism? Do loads of work experience - if you prove yourself it normally leads to some paid work as a freelancer.
Dream interview? Ryan Reynolds - for no other reason than he's hot!
If I wasn't a news reporter I'd be? An around-the-world explorer
