POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses after a robbery at Gosling Sports Park in Welwyn Garden City yesterday.
The incident took place at 9.20pm in the golf range area of Gosling which is on Stanborough Road.
A man walked into the reception area and demanded the man behind the desk hand over cash from the till and the safe, and place it in a Tesco carrier bag, which the member of staff did. The offender then made off with the cash. No one was injured during the incident.
The offender has been described as a white man, around 5ft 9ins tall, with a medium build and wearing black bottoms, a black hooded top with a logo on the left side and a balaclava.
Detective Constable Scott Harvey said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we’ll explore every avenue to trace the person responsible.
“I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, particularly in the car park of the Gosling or the Beefeater. Did you see a man matching this description carrying a Tesco carrier bag leaving the area?
“If you can help, please call me via the non-emergency number on 0845 33 00 222. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, on 0800 555 111.”
