Robbery at St Albans shop

Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a burglary in WH Smith in St Albans last week.

The incident took place between 12.20am and 12.30am on Thursday, January 13 at the store in Market Place. The offender forced entry to the front door by breaking the window. Once inside he removed a large amount of boxes of cigarettes to the value of approximately £1000.
 
The offender then ran off along Upper Dagnall Street. He was said to be wearing a long dark coloured trench coat.
