Crash Woman Dies

A woman's died, three weeks after being hit by a car while crossing a street in Hertfordshire.

The woman - who was in her fifties - has been using a crossing on Paynes Park in Hitchin, close to the junction with Nun's Close, at 7.10pm on Saturday 16 March 2013.

The car involved was a green Ford Mondeo, which had been moving along the one-way road.

The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage. She remained in hospital following the collision but sadly died on Saturday 6 April 2013.
 
Investigating officer PC Andy Ralph, from the Beds and Herts Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I am currently investigating the incident in order to establish the circumstances of what happened.
 
“I would urge anyone who saw the incident to get in touch with me via the police non-emergency number 101.”
