Hemel Burglar Takes Dad's Ashes

22 February 2014, 06:00

A burglar has stolen jewellery from a family home in Hemel Hempstead and the owner has told Heart there's one piece she's MOST keen to get back - it contains her Dad's ashes.

Charlie Lane's father died of cancer two years ago - but along with other items after Thursday night's break-in, someone's taken an incased heart shaped pendant from her Mum's collection.

Charlie told Heart the burglary happened on Thursday - sometime between 8am and 9pm in Hobbs Hill Road.

They have taken jewellery, cash, perfume and 500 Portuguese Marlboro lights, but the most heart breaking thing is we lost my Dad to cancer 2 years ago and we had a heart pendant specially made.

The pendant is engraved with a photo of my Dad and inscribed with "to my devil in disguise love you always xxx".

Incased in the pendant was my Dad's ashes; this is the item we are more concerned about but any information Heart listeners can give to police would help.

Thanks!
