Police in Leighton Buzzard are appealing for information from the public after an armed burglary was reported in Taylor's Ride during the early hours of this morning, Tuesday, December 17.
At around 2.40am, it was reported that three masked men had entered the house and made their way into the main bedroom.
After waking the 47 year old resident and his wife, the offenders demanded cash and told the occupants to lay face down. The resident struggled with the offenders before they fled the scene empty handed.
The three offenders are all described as wearing masks, in their 20s, approximately 5'8" tall and all wearing black clothes.
The officer in charge of this investigation, Detective Sergeant Emma James, is keen to trace anyone who saw three men in the area last night or anyone who may have noticed a white pickup style vehicle in the area on Monday.
DS James said: "The victim was brave and tried to struggle against the offenders but as he did so he sustained a bump to his head which luckily did not required hospital treatment. The men also left behind a stun gun which was used to threaten the victim but not discharged.
It is possible that motorists in the area late last night notice an unusual vehicle and we know that a white pickup style vehicle was seen in the area on Monday morning slowly driving along the road. I would urge anyone else who saw this pickup or anyone who saw a vehicle driving from the scene to contact the police, in confidence."
Anyone with information relating to this investigation can contact Detective Sergeant James, in confidence, at Luton Police Station, on 01582 394445, or Bedfordshire Police on 101, or text information to 07786 200011.
