A man's been stabbed in a field in Luton this morning after he went to confront a dog walker on his land.
It happened just off Manor Road in Woodside at around 7:10am.
The 39-year-old managed to drive to a friend's house to call for an ambulance.
He's been taken to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital where he is receiving treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Leading the investigation Detective Inspector Iain Morgan says he's keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident.
The offender is described as a white man, in his 40s, 6'1" tall, with a beard. He wore a grey flat cap, blue water proof trousers and jacket. He was walking a small brown mongrel dog.
DI Morgan said: "Officers are at the scene and undertaking a search of the area. I would urge anyone who saw or heard the incident to contact officers as soon as possible and help piece together what happened this morning. I would also urge anyone who recognises the man responsible for this violent assault from the description given to also contact the police."
