The M1 in Bedfordshire northbound has been reopened after being shut for more than two and a half hours, following a major crash between two lorries and a car between J10 and J11.

All lanes on the M1 in Bedfordshire northbound have now been reopened after being shut for more than two and a half hours between junctions 10 and 11.

It had closed following a major crash between two lorries and a car.

One of the lorry drivers has been airlifted to the Royal London Hospital with serious injuries.

Both sides of the carriageway had been closed just after 8am for the air ambulance to land, which caused long tailbacks and delays for many drivers.
