A man has had his face and head slashed with a knife while intervening in a argument in a Dunstable car park.
The 35 year old has sever facial injuries following the assault on Thursday afternoon (January 23rd) where his nose was also bitten.
It happened in a residential car park on Southwood Road.
The victim approached the offender after he thought he saw him assaulting a women in an argument.
He's described as in his early 50s, 5ft 10ins tall, of average build, wearing a dark baseball cap, green jacket and blue jeans.
Detective Constable Khajavelidze, who is investigating the attack, is keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the assault or may have further information about the offender.
DC Khajavelidze said:
"This was an appalling attack which was carried out in broad daylight, in a residential area and I hope that somebody is able to come forward to help us with our investigation.
"I'd particularly like to hear from a man who was walking his dog nearby at the time of the incident as he may hold some valuable information."
