Bedfordshire Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a betting shop.
Three men armed with a shotgun went into the Ladbrokes Betting Shop in Birdsfoot Lane at around 9.45pm on Saturday.
They then demanded money staff members.
The victims managed to escape in to a secure room before the offenders, who are all described as men dressed in black, left the scene empty handed.
Detective Constable Matt Shepherd, who is investigating, wants to speak with anyone who saw the three men entering or leaving the shop.
DC Shepherd said: "Luckily no one was hurt during this incident.
We believe the shopping parade was busy and a number of people were close by at the time of the offence.
These people could have vital information that may help identify those involved and I would urge them to contact the police, in confidence."
Anyone with information relating to this crime can contact DC Shepherd, in confidence, at Luton Police Station, on 01582 394448, or Bedfordshire Police on 101, or text information to 07786 200011.
