Murder Suspect In Court

A 56 year old man accused of the murder of his 70 year old sister in law in Luton has made a brief appearance in court.

John Evans was told that a provisional date for his trial has been set for May 12th next year.
 
The grey haired man appeared via a video link to Luton Crown Court from Bedford prison where he is being held on remand.
 
He is accused of the murder of May Evans, who was stabbed in her car as she was on her way to collect her grandson from school.
 
The incident happened on Nov 18 in Trent Road, Luton where Mr. Evans lived.
 
May Evans married his brother David six weeks before, and they lived close by.
 
John Evans was remanded in custody, and there was no application for bail.
 
He will be back before Luton Crown Court on January 27th next year when he will be asked what his plea is to the murder charge.
