Essential overnight roadworks are to take place on the roundabout at junction 11 of the M1 Thursday 3rd June and Friday 4th June.
It’s taking place a night, between 10pm-5am, to minimize disruption to motorists.
Thursday 3rd June
The roundabout will be closed to Luton-bound traffic tonight, between Lewesy Road and Stoneygate Road. Luton-bound and local traffic will be diverted via Skimpot Road, Chaul End Lane and Dunstable Road.
Motorists wishing to access the northbound carriageway of the M1 will be diverted to join the motorway at junction 10. Vehicles travelling southbound on the M2 will not be able to leave at junction 11 slip road, and will be diverted instead to junction 10, then back northwards to junction 11 where they can leave the motorway on the slip road for Dunstable and Luton.
Friday 4th June
The roundabout will be closed to Dunstable-bound traffic tonight between Chaul End Lane to Derby Road.
Local traffic will be diverted via Chaul End Lane, Skimpot Lane and Dunstable Road. Motorists wishing to travel south on the M1 will first be diverted to junction 12 of the motorway using the northbound slip road at junction 11. Vehicles travelling northbound on the M2 and wishing to exit at junction 11 will be diverted on to junction 12, then back southbound to junction 11 where they will be able to leave the exit slip road.
