Sonisphere: Travel Disruption

Sonisphere is back in Knebworth for 2014 causing some disruption to the roads.

Tens’ of thousands of people are expected to head to the event where Iron Maiden and Metallica are headlining.

The A1M and around Stevenage and Knebworth is going to be the most affected route.

Junction 7 is closed for anyone heading southbound from 5am- 3pm from Thursday 3rd July till Monday 7th July.

It will be open for those heading Northbound, drivers will be able to exit the A1 and turn left into Knebworth Park or right into Stevenage.

Anyone going to the festival on the A1 Southbound should exit at Junction 8 and go along the A602 Hitchin Road, A1072 Gunnels Wood Road and A602 Broadhall Way.

This will mean Junction 8 will be much busier for local people heading into Stevenage.
