Detectives in Luton are appealing for information after a large disorder was reported during the early hours of this morning, Wednesday, January 23rd.
The incident happened at The Exchange in King Street at approximately 3.30am when officers were deployed to deal with 200 plus people inside the club.
It is now confirmed five men aged 23, 22, 20, 19 and 19 suffered with various wounds and a 19 year old woman suffered with a small cut to her hand.
All were taken to hospital for treatment but none of the injuries are thought to be life threatening, however, two are described as 'serious'.
The disorder took around 50 minutes to fully resolve with officers using public order tactics to diffuse the situation.
An investigation is now underway to establish what sparked the incident and the road has been closed this morning whilst Scenes of Crime Officers undertake a full forensic examination of the scene.
The officer in charge of this investigation, Detective Constable Mohammed Hussain, is keen to trace anyone who was in the club and can help piece together exactly what happened.
DC Hussain said: "A 22 year old man with a stomach injury and a 19 year old man with injuries to his back and arm have both undergone surgery this morning and are now recovering. Officers will be keeping an open mind on what started this incident and will be reviewing CCTV in due course. I would appeal directly to the people who were inside the club to come forward and help this investigation."
