Woburn Safari Park Big Birthday

The Duke of Bedford’s been helping the tourist attraction mark it’s 40th birthday today (Thursday 20th May).

To mark the special event, five thousand tickets went on sale for just a pound – which is how much it cost to go around the safari park when it first opened back in 1970.

Andrew, Duke of Bedford told Heart he remembers going with  to look at Longleat with his grandfather at the age of six – before the park opened.  Although there aren’t any of the animals left who were at the park at the beginning, a lot of the staff have been here over thirty years and they’ve seen huge changes.
