Man Charged With Attempted Rape In Ipswich

A man has been charged following the attempted rape of a young woman in Ipswich.
Police were deployed to the area of Rope Walk, Ipswich at around 1.45am on Friday 10 October; after a member of the public called in saying they could hear a woman shouting for help.
The woman was found in an area off Rope Walk, near to the junction with Milner Street and a man was arrested nearby.
The 31 year old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape and taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Adam Bonner, of Ipswich Close, Sutton Heath, has since been charged with attempted rape and sexual assault. He will appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning, Saturday 11 October.
