A man has been threatened by two men armed with knives and what is believed to be a baton in Thetford, after he met them to buy a watch he had seen advertised online.

It happened at about 6.50pm on Thursday (4 September). The victim, a man aged in his late 20s, had arranged to meet two men after agreeing to buy the Rolex watch.

As the victim approached the arranged meeting point, a property in Edith Cavell Close, he was approached by the two armed men. They then grabbed hold of the victim who said he didn't have any money on him. The man managed to struggle free and run from his attackers.

The suspects left empty handed and one is described as being white, about 5ft 8 tall with short black hair and aged about 23/24. He was wearing dark jeans and a black hoodie. The second suspect is described as being of mixed race, about 5ft 11, of medium build and aged in his mid-20s. He also wore a black hoodie and black tracksuit bottoms. Both men were wearing sunglasses.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information concerning the suspects involved.

Witnesses should contact Det Con Lisa Cook at Thetford CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
