A man's been left with a broken leg and a head injury after he was assaulted by a man in Links Road Car Park yesterday.

It happened at around 12pm when a man and woman were seen arguing in the car park next to a white transit van, then when the woman ran out of the car park, the man threw bricks at her.

The woman then walked back to the man who assaulted her, causing her to fall over.

Shortly after this, a man drove into the car park in a 4x4 and got out of the car, he was then attacked by the driver of the transit van. Another man - driving a red van - pulled the man off of him.

The first man then drove off in the white van with the woman, it's thought three children were also in the vehicle.

The driver of the 4x4 was taken to the James Paget hospital with a broken leg and a head injury.

Police have spoken to both the 4x4 driver and the driver of the red van but are still trying to find the couple in the white transit van, thought to be a 2001 – 2002 model.  The male driver of the white van is described as being white, aged around 35-years, 6 foot tall, of athletic build, with short dark hair and wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt.

The woman he was arguing with is described as white, aged early to mid 30s, of medium to chubby build, around 5 foot to 5ft 2-inches tall, with short dark hair and wearing a multi-coloured skirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call DC Lee Millard at Lowestoft CID on 101 quoting reference LO/14/2952 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
