Man Tries To Assault Girl In Ipswich Woodland

A man has tried to assault an 11-year-old girl off Bramford Lane in Ipswich.
It happened yesterday evening at around 6pm when the girl was walking along a footpath near the recreation ground on Bramford Lane.
A man approached her and took her into a wooded area near Lovetofts Drive where he tried to assault her. When the victim screamed, the man ran off in the direction of the A14. She wasn't hurt.
The man is described as white, around 5-5’2” tall and as wearing a black hooded top, jeans and a black ski mask. He was also wearing plain black Nike trainers.
A cordon was put in place by police while they carried out extensive searches involving local officers, the police helicopter and police dogs.
Enquiries will continue throughout the day and the police will be carrying out extra patrols to reassure people.
