A woman who died after a yacht sank off the coast of Felixstowe has been named by police.
Bernadine Ingram, aged 57 years and from Butley near Woodbridge, was recovered from the sea yesterday (10th June), after the yacht crashed with a dredger on Sunday (8 June) afternoon.
Emergency services were contacted at approximately 1.30pm with a report there had been a collision at sea.
It's understood there was a man and a woman and two dogs on board.
A man and a dog were recovered alive from the water and searches had been taking place to try to locate the woman.
At approximately 5pm on Monday (9 June) the body of a woman was found in the area where the yacht sank by a dive team from the Norfolk Fire Service.
The second dog has not been found.
A post mortem examination will be taking place tomorrow (11 June). As is usual practice the woman's death is being treated as unexplained and the Coroner has been informed.
A joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is being conducted between Suffolk Police and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
