A Norfolk GP is expected to be jailed today for raping and sexually abusing young girls.
Dr Hugh Blaise O'Neill, 61, of Tasburgh, was remanded in custody after a hearing at Norwich Crown Court in December and warned he is likely to face a custodial sentence.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of rape and one count of gross indecency against one victim who was under 14 at the time of the offences, and two counts of gross indecency against a second victim, also aged under 14, Norfolk Police said.
A police spokesman added: "The offences, which date to between January 1 1995 and December 31 2002, do not relate to his professional role.''
O'Neill has been suspended from his duties by local NHS managers.
He will return to court to be sentenced this morning.
