Elderly Woman Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Cawston

An elderly woman's suffered life-threatening injuries after a van crashed into her mobility scooter, and then drove off in north Norfolk
It happened shortly after 3pm on Brandiston Road in Cawston. A van and a mobility scooter, both travelling in the same direction away from the village, collided.
The mobility scooter rider, a woman in her late 70s, suffered a suspected fractured skull, internal and arm injuries, described as life-threatening. She was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
The driver of the van failed to stop at the scene but was later traced and a man is helping officers with their enquiries.
The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and later reopened shortly before 7pm.
