The Derby annual 5 Parks Ride is taking place as part of the Big Cycle Day Out at Markeaton Park, Derby on Sunday 4 July. Guided rides will leave every half hour between 11am and 2pm.

The ride is in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan work to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support and campaign for better cancer care.

It's a fun, short and easy ride suitable for all the whole family and everybody. It takes you through many of the city's parks, open spaces, along the river and through the city centre.

Derby County FC mascot Rammie will be cheering participants on.

The ride is organised by the CTC Cycle Champions Project, in partnership with Cycle Derby. Volunteers from Derby Cycling Group and Sustrans Rangers will be guiding the rides. The event is also part of   Derby City Partnership’s ‘be inspiring’ week.

There is a small entrance fee of £5 for individuals and £10 for families to cover administration costs. All riders finishing the course will receive a certificate and cycling goodie bag.
