Basildon: Lightning Strikes Houses

Two houses have caught fire in Basildon after being struck by lightning.

Four crews were called to tackle the flames after lightning started fires in the loft space of the homes on Brimsdowne Avenue.

Essex Fire and Rescue Service said the fires started around 8.10pm last night (Saturday) and werer put out after 20 minutes.

No one was injured.
