Dagenham: Man Charged Over Beach Murder

A man from Dagenham is one five people who have been charged with murder after a man's body was found on a beach.
34-year-old Gary Pocock, from Dagenham, was discovered just before 6am on 7 August, when officers were called to Warden Bay Road, Leysdown, on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, police said.
The five people who have been charged are Christopher James Bones, 20, from Dagenham, Jamie West, 19, from Warden on the Isle of Sheppey, Matthew Terry, 20 and Mark Terry, 44, both from Ilford in London, and a 15-year-old, also from Warden on the Isle of Sheppey, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
All will appear at Medway Magistrates' Court in Chatham, Kent, this morning (Friday 23 August).
A post-mortem examination found that Mr Pocock died of significant head injuries.
