The family of a Bishop's Stortford teenager are handing in a petition today calling for a permanent safety barrier at the spot where she died.

Jordan Wickersham drowned when her friend's car came off the road at Spellbrook Lane East in icy conditions.

They had been on their way to a charity catering event when the crashed happened in December 2009.

Now, the 17 year old's grandfather Ed Rudland will present the petition, with around 800 names on, to East Herts District Council and Highways later today.

Since Jordan's death a wooden barrier has been put in place but the family want a permanent structure built at the spot close to a level crossing.
