Chelmsford: Pedestrian Seriously Injured

A pedestrian is in hospital with serious injuries after a car hit him in Chelmsford.
Emergency services were called at 6.33am today (8th October) to reports of a crash on Colchester Road.
The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital by air ambulance.
The road has been closed from Boreham services to Sainsbury's roundabout while police collision investigators carry out initial enquiries.
The car driver has been arrested on suspicion of careless driving.
