Colchester: Soldier On Moroccan Mission

A Colchester paratrooper wounded in Afghanistan is taking part in a fundraising expedition to Morocco.

Sergeant Alan Jackson, 29, is one of four soldiers hoping to raise £40,000 for the Afghanistan Trust, which supports injured Parachute Regiment soldiers and the families of those who have been killed.

The expedition, supported by Nissan, will leave on April 18th, with two teams setting off from the Parachute Regiment's barracks in Colchester.

Sergeant Jackson said, "the last year has been tough and I have had to work hard to adapt to the limitations imposed upon me by my new injury.

"Mission Morocco will give me the chance to prove that my injuries are no barrier to me taking part in a challenging overseas expedition."
