Colchester: Teen Arrested Over Rape

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of raping a girl in Colchester.

The teenager, who is also 16, was attacked in woodland off Clairmont Road on Sunday evening (9 February).

The 16-year-old boy from the Sudbury area was arrested a few hours after.

He is currently on police bail until later this month.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "Officers are aware that a number of people were walking their dogs while others were playing football at Lexden King George Field between 4:30-6:30pm.

"Detectives are keen to speak to these people in order to find out if they saw the assault or heard anything which could assist with the investigation."
