Dunmow: Plane Crash-Lands At Airfield

A light aircraft's crash-landed at Andrewsfield airfield between Braintree and Great Dunmow this lunchtime (Friday January 6th).

The four seater plan is reported to have had an accident during take off with the result of a fuel spill.

Four fire appliances have been sent to the scene, including foam stock from Stansted.

The Ambulance service is also at the scene.

East of England Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: "We believe the aircraft got in to difficulties whilst taking off and it crashed landed. Ambulance crews are still at the scene and it is believed there are four casualties involved and they do not require to go to hospital."

The incident is still ongoing.

It's the third aircraft incident in the county this week. On Monday (January 2nd) two men escaped with minor injuries after a plane crash-landed at Stapledford Flying Club near Epping.

Later that evening a man was seriously injured after a twin aircraft caught fire on the runway at North Weald Airfield.
