Elderly Woman Dies After Southend Crash

An 89 year old woman, who was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Southend, has now died.
Police were called to Rochford Road shortly after 11.30am on Saturday (November 1) following reports a red Ford KA and a pedestrian had been in collision. It happened near the roundabout known as Warner’s Bridge, close to the entrance to Southend Airport.
The female pedestrian suffered serious head and pelvic injuries and was flown to the Royal London Hospital. She died yesterday (November 3).
A 32 year old man from Leigh-on-Sea, who was arrested in connection with it, has been released on bail until February 2015.
