Epping: Three Seriously Injured In Bus Crash

Three people have suffered "serious injuries'" after two buses collided at Coopersale, near Epping.

Police were called to Epping Road at 4.27pm after a school bus and a local bus collided near the junction with Coopersale Common Road.

A teenage girl, on the school bus, and the male driver of the other bus have been released by firecrews.

The bus driver has been flown to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge for treatment to injuries which are believed to be life changing.

The teenage girl has been taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, for treatment to serious injuries which are not believed to be life threatening along with a further pupil and a passenger from the local bus.

Two other walking wounded have been checked by paramedics at the scene and released.

The road has been closed at The Plain, Epping and at Woodside, and traffic is currently being diverted through Thornwood, police said. Epping Road is likely to remain closed into Wednesday night while police investigations are carried out.
