Essex: More Delays For Rail Passengers

Train travellers in Essex have endured yet another difficult rush-hour.

A broken-down train at Manningtree in Essex led to delays of up to 60 minutes on Greater Anglia services between Ipswich and Colchester this morning (Thursday December 13th).

There were also hold-ups of up to an hour to Greater Anglia trains between Shenfield and Romford in Essex due to a signalling problem at Gidea Park.

Delays on an almost daily basis, with floods and icy conditions also worsening journey times, have plagued passengers in recent weeks.

In less than three weeks' time, season ticket holders will face average annual fare rises of 4.2%.
