Essex County Council has told Heart the Tour de France will boost the economy by £100 million and attract three million visitors.
The tour takes to the streets of Essex as part of stage 3 of the race on Monday 7th July. The Council is working with a range of partners to help deliver the plans for the day.
These include experts who were involved in the delivery of the traffic and crowd management plans for the London 2012 Games.
This is said to be a complicated process but very necessary to facilitate such a large sporting event.
