The funeral takes place today (Monday 30 June) of a man who died after suffering 102 stab wounds in Colchester.
James Attfield was found injured in Lower Castle Park on Saturday 29 March.
Detectives investigating the 33-year-old's murder say they have taken more than 800 statements, and there are still seven people they are looking to speak to so they can be eliminated from their enquiries.
He will be buried at St Peter's Church in Coggeshall this lunchtime.
Mr Attfield's family have also set up an online page to raise money for the charity Headway Essex.
Deputy Senior Investigating Officer, DI Anne Cameron, said: "James was a vulnerable man who would not have been able to run away from his attacker.
"For the sake of his family we will do all we can to bring his killer to justice. If you can help us please contact the investigation team via 101 or give information to Crimestoppers."
