Man Arrested After Girl Sexually Assaulted In Southend

A 22 year old man has been arrested after a nine year old girl was sexually assaulted in Southend.

Essex Police say the attack happened at around 5pm on Monday (10 November) off Scratton Road. The victim was found by a passer-by, who then called police.

The girl is being cared for by specially trained officers.

The man was detained in Harlow and has been taken to Southend Police Station for questioning.
