Harlow's Tesco distribution centre closes today, putting nearly 800 people out of work.
Deliveries from there stopped three weeks ago, as everything gets moved to a new site in Dagenham.
The company says it's offered staff the chance to move to the new plant but only around 100 are.
MP for Harlow, Robert Halfon told Heart the decision to move is a bad one, "It was one of the most productive [distribution centres] in England...and then to say to workers if they take a job in Dagenham, they would be, in essence, paid much less, was also unjust.
"Workers are being offered jobs in Dagenham but at much lower pay and much higher transport costs.
"Workers I've spoken to are losing thousands of pounds a year."
