A woman has been threatened by four men armed with a gun in her own home in Harlow.
Four men went into the property on Old Road between 10-11pm yesterday (Monday 8 July) and pushed a handgun to her face, before stealing cash and jewellery.
Investigating Officer, Dc Ryan Burgess, said: "We're confident that people living on Old Road near to its junction with Bury Road would have seen and heard a commotion at 11pm on Monday night.
"We would urge them to contact us so that we can identify these men while also allaying this woman?s fears for her safety."
The group then ran away from the house. Three of the four men were wearing balaclavas while the fourth was not and he is black. He was wearing a blue top.
A search of the area was conducted by armed officers, with the police helicopter also scouring the area from the sky, but no arrests have been made.
Anyone with information in connection with this burglary is urged to contact detectives at Harlow police station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
