Man Charged After Woman Raped In Basildon

A 23 year old man's been charged after a woman was raped in Basildon's town centre.

Police were contacted at around 11:30pm last Friday (July 18) following reports a woman had been raped at the underpass near Broadmayne.

Police arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of rape after he handed himself in at Grays Police Station.

Nathan Morgan, who doesn't have a fixed address, has been charged by detectives with rape and ABH and has been remanded in custody. He will appear before Magistrates this morning (July 26).
