A man has been taken to hospital after falling more than 20 feet from a ladder earlier on today (3rd June).

The ambulance service received a 999 call at 9.59am this morning reporting that a man had fallen from a ladder at a house in Rayleigh.

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "The man was believed to have been right at the top of the ladder when he fell, so it was quite a big fall. We sent a rapid response vehicle which arrived on scene in just four minutes, followed by an ambulance and Hertfordshire Air Ambulance.

"The critical care team assessed the man, who is believed to be in his 50s, but fortunately his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
